February 2012 Pet of the Month – “GORDA” Goodwin
Date: February 1, 2012Calusa Veterinary Center would like to introduce our February ”Pet of the Month”.
She is “GORDA” Goodwin.
Gorda is a feisty, strong willed 18 year old Tabby. She was homeless in the Bronx until she found the Goodwin family. She has no tail since she lost it from sleeping under cars to keep warm in the winter. She is nicknamed” crazy little old lady” .
Gorda has chronic disease which includes kidney failure, upper respiratory symptoms, hyperthyroidism and a mass in her chest. Despite all this, Gorda keeps fighting. She comes to Calusa for treatments at least three times per week for fluids and injections. This has become a family affair with even grandma and Grandpa Goodwin helping with her care, to bring her in.
