March 2016 Pet of the Month – “MISSY” Yelin
Date: March 1, 2016Calusa Veterinary Center would like to introduce our March 2016 “Pet of the Month”.
She is “MISSY” Yelin.
I am a nine year old ‘one of a kind’ doggie with an extensive heritage. I was born in Florida and had a family but they didn’t follow the rule of ‘Spay or Neuter” and left me to run loose. I was only a year old when I had a litter of cute puppies. I wasn’t needed anymore and so I left. I was found and taken to a shelter. They called me a rescue dog so I set about looking for someone to rescue. One day a lady came in and I knew she was the one. I worked my charm and she was hooked! I had a new family. First stop was to meet Dr Turkell at Calusa Veterinary Center. Dr Turkell had been the beloved vet and friend to the Yelin dogs for 23 years. I passed his test. I was named Melissa Knieriem after Calusa’s Dr Knieriem who took such loving care of my sister Brandy when she was very ill. For the past 8 years, all the staff at Calusa have been my second family. They are all so good to me. I have a wonderful home, and spend most of my day following my mom around, taking care of her. On my off hours, I lie on the window sill and watch the world go by. Mom says I am the most well behaved doggie ever! LOVE surrounds me!
