Calusa Veterinary Center would like to introduce our February 2018 “Pets of the Month”.

They are “KYLIE”, “ZOEY”, “QUINCY” & “SAMMY” Lipp.

When our beloved rescue Cockapoo passed away at 15 years, there was no doubt in our minds that we wanted Cockapoos. The chances of getting a brother & sister were slim, so, we researched different Cockapoo breeders. We traveled 7 hours to visit a breeder in Ohio, and this is where we got our Sammy and Kylie from.  They are now 9 years old. When we made a move to Florida, our new community allowed 4 small dogs so we decided to add to our canine family. After much research, we found Quincy and Zoey,  brother & sister Mini Golden Doodles. They are now 1 years old.
Our canine family is complete. The joy of receiving love from these babies is overwhelming. The joy of giving love to our babies is joyful. All 4 get along and sleep in our (king-size) bed. We take them daily to the Dog park where they run around and socialize with other dogs. What joy to have these 4 canine babies in our life!

DOGS ARE NOT OUR WHOLE LIFE BUT THEY MAKE OUR LIFE WHOLE!

Calusa Veterinary Center would like to introduce our January 2018 “Pet of the Month”.

He is “COLBY” White. 

In Memorium:

Seven and a half years ago Colby came into our lives.  He came from a Cavalier King Charles Breeder.  He brought so much love, and sweetness to our family.

He was OUR MIRACLE!  Diagnosed well over two years ago with heart disease and given no more than 2 years to live, he continued to run around, and be a normal pup. Sadly after a 2 year fight for life our amazing Colby went to The Rainbow Bridge on 12/28/17.

Thanks to the wonderful team of Dr. Anthony Krawitz and Staff at Calusa who helped us to give him a quality of life for as long as possible.

… always loved.

Calusa Veterinary Center would like to introduce our December 2017 “Pets of the Month”.

They are “CARLY”, “JILLY” & In memory of “KIKI” Fishman. 

We all love our pets and think of them as our children! In a brief description…Jilly is a typical “middle child”…needy and craving attention….ALL THE TIME! Kiki was the sweetest and most independent one of all .I sadly say ‘was’, because on the very day we were presented with this honor, we had to say goodbye to her. She had issues and, at 16 1/2, fought them all the way! Then there is Carly….a feisty little thing and makes us laugh all the time! We would be void without our furry babies….and I bet I speak for us all!

Calusa Veterinary Center would like to introduce our October 2017 “Pet of the Month”.

He is “TYSON” Bermudez. 

Tyson came into our lives when he was 3 months old.  From the first day he arrived into our home he stole everyone’s heart. Ty is the most silliest, sweetest boxer ever. He loves to run outside, play with his friends and cuddle with mommy and daddy. He steals the hearts of every single person he meets.

Calusa Veterinary Center would like to introduce our September 2017 “Pet of the Month”.

He is “GOOBER” Lyman.

Goober was rescued from a puppy mill and made his way to Florida.  An ex-employee at Calusa offered to help find Goober a home, as he was on his way to a shelter.  Dr. Krane suggested she call us as we already had 2 rescued Bassets.  

Goober is the most sensitive and emotional dog I’ve ever met.  He not only is a surrogate dad to 3 kittens that were born on our lawn five years ago who we adopted, he always kept vigil and a watchful eye over our other Bassets as they aged and passed on. He loves to howl with his pack friends at the dog park to “Happy Birthday” and has entertained many.  

We recently adopted Figgy, a 4-year old beagle who Goober has taken under his wings.

Calusa Veterinary Center would like to introduce our August 2017 “Pet of the Month”.

He is “MARLEY” Ferrato.

Marley was adopted from a shelter in Pennsylvania at the age of 4 months. Since, we’ve lived in Wisconsin and currently in Florida. Marley loved to play in the snow and now loves to play in the sand. Last year he suffered a ruptured disk and is in a doggy wheel chair, but that does not stop him. His favorite things to do are eat treats, give kisses, cuddles and play with toys. He also gets very excited when it’s therapy day and knows all the nurses and doctors at Calusa.

Calusa Veterinary Center would like to introduce our July 2017 “Pet of the Month”.

She is “CHLOE” Gray.

Chloe was born in the wild with her brother Alistair. She was a bit bigger than him and he hid behind her in the trunk of a large banyan tree and behind a rusty old cabinet. When their mother, Mamasita, went off to find food we were able to catch Alistair first and the following day we caught Chloe. Mamasita was looking for her babies and she came right into the building where we had them. We brought all three home together where they slowly became more tame. Chloe has always been a protector and a little healer. When I was recovering from two serious surgeries she never left my side. She is always the first to come out and greet anyone that visits her home and even sleeps with certain lucky overnight guests. She loves be brushed and is very vocal and is not shy to tell you what she wants. She loves to cuddle and watch TV. She’s a proper little girl. Everybody loves this little angel.

Calusa Veterinary Center would like to introduce our June 2017 “Pets of the Month”.

They are “BROOKLYN” & “MICKEY” Napolitano.

Brooklyn is a sweet and loving 11 ½ year old Pitbull.  She brings our family so much joy.  She loves playing with her little brothers, Cobi and Elvis.  Her favorite time of the day is going in the yard, where she loves chasing lizards and lying in the sun.  Brooklyn had some serious health issues this year, but thanks to Dr. Krawitz guidance and treatment plan, she is doing great!

May 29th was Mickey’s 12th birthday.  He is the love of my life.  Mickey is a tough and brave little Maltese who has survived being attacked by an 80 lb. German Shepard and many other health issues.  Always being pulled through by Dr. Krawitz. Mickey loves me unconditionally, he is my protector and will never let anyone come near me.
