Tracy Scola, DVM
Dr. Tracy Scola was born and raised in Chicago where she attended the University of Illinois and graduated with a BS in Biology and minor in Chemistry. From the age of 16 she enjoyed working as a Veterinary Technician in a large 24 hour practice in the suburbs of Chicago. Although she had told her parents since age four that she was going to be a veterinarian, the experience in the emergency clinic solidified and defined this dream.
In 1999, Dr. Scola graduated from Ross University of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year at Oklahoma State University, where she loved being introduced to horses, cows, and llamas as her new patients. She then completed two years of internship training in Oncology, Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine at a private clinic in Chesapeake, Virginia. After marrying into the military, Dr. Scola enjoyed moving around the country and seeing new places before finally settling in Florida in 2006. Dr. Scola pursued a career exclusively in Emergency and 24 hour clinics in San Diego and Pebble Beach, California and ultimately Miami prior to proudly joining the Calusa Veterinary Center. She has special interests interests in critical care, internal medicine, and Surgery however, any situation involving pets and their families makes her happy.
Outside of work Dr. Scola can be found with her three human children and her many fur and feather babies. Her favorite part of working in the veterinary field is returning healthy pets to their owners and meeting people who are as crazy about animals as she is. Dr. Scola enjoys travel, drawing (animals of course), photography and life near the ocean.
