DVM

Dr. Emilie Papell is a proud South Florida native. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Florida State University in 2020. (Go Noles!) She then went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Arizona in 2025. (Go Cats!)

During veterinary school, Dr. Papell was an active member of the Shelter Medicine Club, where she provided care for animals in shelters across southern Arizona. She also participated in Snip N Tip, a high-volume TNR program serving Tucson’s feral cat population. She is very proud of the 12 cats and 4 dogs she fostered and found homes for while completing her degree. Dr. Papell’s professional interests include neurology, oncology, anesthesia, internal medicine, holistic medicine, and primary care. She is RECOVER CPR certified, hyperbaric oxygen therapy certified, and a member of the AVMA.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Papell enjoys spending time at the beach—whether it’s collecting seashells, paddleboarding, or fishing. She also loves cooking, baking, and building Lego to expand her growing collection. At home, she is happily accompanied by her English Cream Retriever, Reginald, and looks forward to expanding her furry family in the future.

Dr. Papell is thrilled to join the Calusa Veterinary family and is excited to provide exceptional care for pets and their people.
